A tour of the Blackbutt Creek Track, located in Gordon, a suburb on the Sydney North Shore. Parts of the track span the suburbs of Gordon, West Pymble and Killara.

Our entry point to the track is on Kiparra Street in West Pymble, where we cut through a small reserve and head down a series of stairs that lead down to the Blackbutt Creek. After crossing the Blackbutt Creek we then turn left and head up to Vale Street, Gordon to show another track entry point.

If you would prefer, you can view the video direct on the Sunday Explorer YouTube channel instead (link opens in a new window). It would be highly appreciated if you could give the video a LIKE and consider hitting SUBSCRIBE, which will both help us to make more videos.

From the entrace at Vale Street in Gordon we had along the fire trail, with houses and Gordon Scouts hall perched high up on the left. The fire trail is popular for walkers, particularly on the weekends, due to the close proximity to houses and the relatively gentle gradients on offer for the majority of the trail. The Blackbutt Creek Fire Track leads all of the way down to Lady Game Drive, Killara, where you can find a side feeder trail, should you want to enter or exit from this point.

The track then curves left and takes us up to the very end of St Johns Avenue in Gordon, to a housing development which was built in the early 1990s.

In the video we decide to extend our experience but following a small dirt trail through a few bushes that leads to the Gordon Golf Club. This track runs beside the course along the 16th hole. This small track is known as the St Johns Wood Pathway and is well surfaced with expansive views of the golf course. Hidden to the right of this path is a waterfall, however due to the growth of the bush it is not clear in the video. In this area you can also frequently find water dragons. The St Johns Wood Pathway terminates at Spencer Road, Killara.
