A tour of the North Narrabeen Beach Headland trail which runs through Turimetta Head (Turimetta Beach) and finally down to Warriewood Beach. A hidden gem, a worthy addition to a list of the best walks in Sydney.
Our entry point to the track is the North Narrabeen Beach carpark (the carpark closest to the ocean pool).

There are 3 main sections to this track:
1) North Narrabeen Beach Headland Track
2) Turimetta Headland Track
3) Trail down to Warriewood Beach Track
Each of the 3 sections have many steps, so they are not suitable for a pram. The total length of the trail would be somewhere around 1.5-2.5km.
We start off with a wooden stair climb to the top of the Narrabeen Headland, where dirt paths snake around to various lookouts, providing views down Narrabeen Beach towards Collaroy Beach, Long Reef Headland and beyond. The snaking of the trail continues and you then pop out on a path that continues across the top of Turimetta Beach, a beautiful beach that many visitors to the Sydney Northern Beaches would never have heard of, let alone seen.
After a short street path walk you are then thrown back into the reserve where dirt paths and steps take you around the Turimetta Headland.
Just before you begin your descent into Warriewood Beach you will pass the entry to the location of the Warriewood Blowhole on your right. In the video you will notice that the area to the blowhole had been fenced off to prevent easy access by pedestrians. This area is very popular with school age adventure seekers aiming to check out the Warriewood jump rock. Like so many adventures, whatever you choose, remember to keep safety in mind.
The path going down into Warriewood Beach is narrow and quite well hidden, providing ocean views around every bend and popping out on the eastern side of the Warriewood surf club.
Continue beyond the Warriewood Surf Club and along the entire length of the car park where a sand path then leads to a concrete set of stairs that takes you up to Narrabeen Park Parade. I should note here that there is also a different set of stairs next to the public toilet block / showers that will take you straight up the hill to a small set of shops.
North Narrabeen Headland – Other Adventures Nearby
While you are in the area there are plenty of other adventures to explore. You can very easily continue your walk from Warriewood Beach by joining the Warriewood to Mona Vale Beach Path on Narrabeen Park Parade, which will take you to Mona Vale Beach, close to the Mona Vale Headland Reserve Trail and beyond. Or maybe consider taking a 5 min car ride west and link up with the Warriewood Wetlands East Trail, Warriewood Wetlands West Trail or Irrawong Reserve (Warriewood Waterfall). To the south you could start with the Long Reef Headland Trail.
North Narrabeen Headland – Getting There
For public transport, hop off the bus at the main Warriewood B-Line stop and take the 950m walk to North Narrabeen Headland. The Warriewood stop is much closer than the Narrabeen bus stop. Note that there are some limited local buses which will get you closer though. If you are driving then you are in luck, as well as the paid parking being available in the North Narrabeen Beach car park, there is plenty of free street parking available nearby, especially up alongside the trail where it passes Turimetta Beach and slightly further along near the Warriewood Blowhole.
