A tour of the Dee Why to Curl Curl Coastal Trail, located between the suburbs of Dee Why and Curl Curl on the Sydney Northern Beaches.

The length of this walk is approximately 2kms each way.

Our starting point is Pacific Parade, Dee Why. There are plenty of options for street parking nearby, however this will also be largely dependent on the time of year when you are visiting. As the trail begins close to Dee Why Beach and ocean pool the area can be crowded on warm weekends, particular over the summer holidays. Many exit points are along the track if you are after something a bit shorter. These are at Dee Why Lane (end of Headland Road), Phyllis Lane, Molong Street and finally Huston Parade next to the Curl Curl Surf Club.

If you would prefer, you can check out the video directly on the Sunday Explorer YouTube channel (link opens in a new window).

The Dee Why to Curl Curl Coastal Trail is narrow, with many steps and tree roots along the way to watch out for. It would not be possible to take a pram along this route.

Along the way you will pass the Ghania lookout, and later the Tea Tree lookout. Both offer excellent sweeping ocean views.

One other very popular sight along this track is the “Don’t Jump Rock”. This is a slight off-track detour towards the ocean at the Curl Curl end of the track. Many of the nearby rocks have also been covered in graffiti. Please don’t add your own graffiti.

Finish off the walk with a swim in the Curl Curl ocean pool before either walking back along the track the way that you came, or take the streets for a faster walk.
